We Are Ready For Vat Challenges
Gulf Precast Management confirmed That Mr. Kaiyum has been done excellent job in implementation of VAT in existing ERP system.
It is confirmed now that VAT will take place in the UAE from the 1st of January 2018 onwards. As Gulf Precast concrete has performed its VAT registration, we are make ourselves ready to take on this challenge. Implementing VAT in its ERP system is challenging for any organization, especially in countries where the Taxation system is new.
We are using our ERP system since 2011 with End to End Operations. Our finance module is active and all financial decisions of the company are based on ERP data. VAT implementation should integrate with our current running system without impacting negatively our running modules, which is a real challenge for any IT department. I would like to thank Gulf Precast Management, especially Dr. Daniele who not only approved to design VAT solution but guided me on each and every steps for implement VAT in our ERP System. I would also like to say thank you to Mr. Rajiv (our VAT consultant), Mr. Maha and Mr. Ahmad (HR Manager), along with all process owners who are giving support to make this happen with their team, providing precious time and ideas.
I like to give a very special thanks to ERP ICT team Mr. Udhuman, Ms. Dhanusha, Mr. Tariq, Mr. Sufi, for their effective support in designing and testing and at the same time I do not forget to thank Mr. Tanvir, Ms. Jilu and Mr. Shema for maintaining the system up and running all time.
We have followed the below VAT Implementation Methodology:

At this stage we have done the below activities in ERP for VAT implementation
- Study about VAT in UAE
- Design Solution Documents with Impact and analysis
- Solution Document review with VAT consultant and SFD
- Solution Document reviewed by Process owners
- Changes done In System according to Solution Documents
- Posting of Financial entries changes as per consultant suggestion
- User Acceptance Test cases Preparation and reviewed with SFD
- First level testing done by ICT with User Acceptance Test cases
- User Acceptance Test cases shared with concern department heads and users
- User Acceptance Test cases passed by Concern department Users
- System flow review with internal Auditor and taken care of his requirements
- Designing reports related to VAT data
Below Activity will be done early next week before 31st December
- Deployment in Live Server
- Training to All users
- Declaring Go Live
- Supporting GO Live
- Tax return format from ERP System ( this will be done by the middle of January)
Thus I can say that YES, we are ready for VAT in our ERP system. We will always support our users if any issues or new requirements are identified, and aim for our system to be adaptable and evolving.
